LIVE Online, Zoom Workshop
Many of us are struggling with how to remain in authentic relationship with family and friends who see the world very differently. This retreat provides concrete skills not just for getting through dialogue about polarizing topics, but for experiencing relational flourishing through them. Past participants report transformation in relationships among spouses, adult children, friends, and organizations that they touch.
The workshop draws on recent research in neurobiology, social psychology, and empathy studies, along with formational principles from the fields of chaplaincy, clinical pastoral education, and spiritual direction. Participants integrate the four core pillars of the dialogue practice through small group work and application of the techniques between sessions. We also reflect on the spiritual dimension of this work, and how it’s not uncommon to perceive “something bigger” flowing through us as we connect with one another on a deeper level, even in the midst of polarizing topics.
